Translation: Even small fish are fish.” ~ Czech Proverb
Snapshot 4. I Ate an Entire Field of Potatoes
A festival in Kempa island seemed to revolve around people dressed up as witches, lots of dancing and shouting, and two big tents dedicated to food – large steel trays holding every kind of meat imaginable and potatoes cooked in wide variety. “Vegetarian” claimed one of the steel trays, and without thinking much more, I pointed and received an entire bowl of boiled fingerling potatoes covered with a pesto-esque sauce and a few unidentifiable vegetables mixed in for good measure. So that was the day that I ate an entire field of potatoes for dinner.
